Environmental Management Systems
At Nabors, environmental management is woven into our integrated management system and housed within our Health, Safety, and Environmental Integrated Management System (HSE-MS). Our system components are interrelated, enabling us to address health, safety, and environmental risks while simultaneously protecting our employees, the environment, and local communities. Our management system considers applicable environmental laws, regulations, and industry standards. This proactive approach is our way of effectively managing risks and seizing opportunities.
We aim for sustainability in all operations, including our supply chain and contractors. As a result, our HSE IMS applies to third-party vendors working in any capacity for our organization. Energy Management
Identifying and managing our energy consumption does more than reduce costs; it lessens the impact on our world. With additional automation on our rigs, warehouse and office efficiencies, we are able to continually decrease our footprint.
Occupational Health & Safety Management System
Our commitment is to ensure we identify the hazards and risks associated to occupational health and safety at all our worksite areas to set operational controls to avoid injury or incidents. Emissions
Nabors is committed to monitoring, measuring, and reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Seeking ways to lower emissions through cutting-edge, efficient technologies and innovative processes to create a competitive advantage for Nabors and support our customers with reduced costs. By providing our customers with equipment and services that reduce fuel consumption for their activities, we are contributing to reducing GHG emissions that ultimately impact climate change.
Climate Change
Finding solutions to mitigate climate change means identifying opportunities and developing and implementing technology. The changing climate creates risk but also the opportunity to be at the forefront of innovation and growth through the use of technological advances.
Spill Prevention
Foundational to our spill prevention approach are innovative technologies designed to properly contain fluids. There is a sense of urgency to protect the environment from impact and we consider all facets including the storage, handling and disposal features.
Water and Waste Management
To maintain an ecological balance, we explore viable water and waste reduction methods, reclamation and reuse to protect natural resources. At our locations worldwide, you will find source reduction and recycling practices and safe treatment and disposal of end-stage waste.
Biodiversity
At Nabors, we are dedicated to minimizing the need for additional land disturbances. We operate within established guidelines to the greatest extent possible. Biodiversity is central to our environmental risk assessment criteria, and we assess it at each facility under our direct control. Importantly, we take a proactive approach by implementing operational controls to mitigate significant impacts. This ensures that our business activities prioritize the utmost regard for biodiversity and ecosystems.
Asset Decommissioning
With most of our operations executed with equipment, equipment management can also impact our environment. To mitigate the effects, we can take a forward-thinking approach to ensure the condition of the equipment is monitored, and maintenance is prioritized to maximize its operational life and efficiency. We are devoted to decommissioning our assets when they have reached the end of their lifecycle in the most environmentally friendly way possible.
Suppliers and Vendors
We seek suppliers aligning with our business standards to further a collaborative effort. We urge our business partners to aspire beyond local, state, and national environmental laws, regulations, and practices. These companies must comply with all applicable human rights, labor, and governance standards. Nabors’ Vendor Guidelines include the expectation that our suppliers and vendors exhibit the highest ethical standards and agree to Nabors’ right to carry out annual audits. These reviews will evaluate the suppliers’ performance in human rights, environmental management, business ethics and social responsibility.
