The candidate’s prime responsibility will sell products, technical products and services to a wide range of accounts and customers. Attainment of sales and margin targets is a prime directive. Primary responsibility is Top Drive rentals, services and related products. This may be expanded to include other Tesco products.
The candidate shall demonstrate skills in consultative technical sales, a willingness to travel, and to have attitude and aptitude for prospecting new opportunities for the Company.
§ Reports to Top Drive Sales Manager – NABU
§ Identify sales opportunities & target accounts
§ Maintain a regular call program on prospects and existing customers within the prescribed territory of Operators, Drilling Contractors, and Engineering Consultants, to promote the sale of TESCO services
§ Qualify prospects for services & develop sales strategies for these accounts in cooperation with sales manager
§ Prepare and deliver TESCO services presentations to contractors, drilling departments, and other groups.
§ Participate in seminars, tradeshows, and/or exhibits for the purpose of generating new leads, and enhancing TESCO’s image
§ Prepare quotations, submit and follow up services quotations. Review and seek approval for all non standard quotations or price deviations with Supervisor
§ Report weekly on promotional activities, sales strategies, prospects, new opportunities, lost sales, and competitor activities in the territory.
§ Regularly maintain and update the company’s customer database
§ Be the primary point of contact in sales transactions
§ Define customer needs for equipment, installation issues, & coordination. Communicate same to appropriate departments within TESCO
§ After sales follow-up
§ Maintain a cordial relationship with TESCO’s customers whereby any invoicing disputes or questions can be handled smoothly, and without problems or payment delays
§ Maintain 90 % operating utilization of the Tesco Top Drive rental fleet
§ Prospecting & development of new client relationships
§ Pro-active, regular contact with existing clients
§ A willingness to “go the extra mile” to close the sale
§ Stay abreast of and be aware of product features and benefits, and communicate same to customers
§ Demonstrated success and 3 – 5 years experience in the sale of services, preferably in an oilfield-drilling environment.
§ A business or technical degree/diploma is preferred, but may be offset by industry experience.
§ Oral and written communication skills. Competency in a foreign language would be an asset
§ Extensive industry contacts
§ General computer proficiency
§ Responsible for selling products, technical products and services to a wide range of accounts and customers.
· General knowledge of oilfield drilling operations
· Sufficient technical understanding to communicate complex operational features to customers as benefits
