Position:              Field Service Coordinator

Location:             Leduc, AB

Objectives of the Position

Responsibilities include the deployment of Field Service Technicians and coordinating the overall activities of field service. This includes but is not limited to job quoting and scheduling with the parts manager and shop supervisor to insure proper utilization of resources to meet the needs of our clients.  Generally speaking this is an office position, however, it is expected that the Field Service Supervisor will from time to time make visits to the field to inspect/assist field operations. The Field Service Supervisor will be required to support shop activities during times of peek shop activity.  On call responsibilities will include supporting sold units and rental equipment. 

 

Responsible to: Distract Manager

Internal Relationships: 

§ Act as a liaison between NABU field service and other business units as pertains to technical support and service technician assignment/allocation

§ Liaison with Shop Supervisor to coordinate personnel travel

§ Maintain a close relationship with the Sales team to ensure services are provided for all sales agreements as they dictate

§ Work closely with the Supply Chain Supervisor to ensure all parts and equipment are ready and available for upcoming field service jobs

 

External Relationships:

§ All vendors, customers, Tesco Business Units and related service companies

§ Client relations as pertaining to dispute resolution

§ Client relations as it pertains to AR & DSO

§ Client relations as pertains to customer field service quality

Educational Qualifications

§ Certified Journeyman Mechanic or Electrician

§ A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in service and repair

Principal Tasks

§ Support management to implement new processes to enhance productivity and customer service (A-B inspection and C type recertification)

§ Support administrative team with invoicing and DSO

§ Open, coordinate, supervise and close service jobs

§ Monitor WIP account to ensure jobs are closed, invoiced and payment is collected in a timely manner

§ After hours and on-call responsibilities: Selective technical advice to clients and deployment of field technicians and parts. Continued support to technicians and monitoring of job progress and hours worked.

§ Ensuring all personnel are adhering to safety rules and industry standards that are set out in the Tesco Safety Manual

§ Promote feedback from field operations regarding non-compliance and safety issues,  ensure documented reports are presented to the proper departments through the appropriate channels

§ Ensure all jobs are well documented

§ Provide customers with written list of recommendations after field visitations and power point reports for future business.

 

Personnel Management

§ Provide leadership and recruit talent; coach and mentor the field service team

§ Oversee the hiring of new employees (or termination if required)

§ Dispute resolution internally with both employees and other departments

§ Ensure all employee’s receive proper training for the tasks they will be performing

§ Knowledge of all field personnel’s technical ability to ensure they are properly supported

Specific Expertise

§ Must have good communication and interpersonal skills

§ Must have knowledge of drilling equipment and industry

§ Must be comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment

§ Experience in staff management

§ Be prepared to provide training related to the NCR process and tools available to your Business Unit Staff

 Competencies Required For Effective Performance

§ Sound computer skills

§ Ability to coordinate and prioritize

§ Ability to be self-directed

§ Minimum of 5 years proven field experience

§ Good communication skills, both written and verbal

§ Oilfield background is essential

§ Dispatcher experience an asset

§ Ability to troubleshoot and rectify equipment problems

§ Must be flexible and willing to work overtime to ensure project completion
